Frank Bacon was born and raised in the game and fish rich region of Western Kentucky. Being raised in an outdoor oriented family, he was exposed at an early age to the pursuits he now calls his passions. While in his teens he developed a strong interest in calling and hunting waterfowl. This interest has only turned into a full blown addiction to duck and goose hunting.

Frank attended college in the commonwealth and is presently employed with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and serves a District Permit Engineer and oversees all aspects of construction in his district.

Frank got involved in calling contests and participated in numerous duck, goose and turkey calling events through out the 90's. He is a two time Kentucky State Duck and Turkey calling champion along with being past Kentucky State Goose calling champion. Although he does not compete anymore, he says some of his closest friends were met through those contests he participated in. Frank still enjoys attending these events and now judges several events each year.

Frank enjoys waterfowl and turkey hunting in addition to being an avid angler. He can be found in the fall guiding waterfowl hunts at Curtis-Allen Wildfowl Adventures in South East Missouri. He runs spring turkey hunts in Kentucky and averages hunting in four to five states each spring. Frank also enjoys yearly trips to Canada waterfowl hunting with friends in the fall.

Cody Bair

Cody has grown up in Shelley, Idaho, a large farming community on the Snake River in Eastern Idaho. Living on a small farm in Idaho, he has been around hunting his entire life. His first hunt was just after he turned twelve and received his hunting license.

He and his older brother walked about three miles from their house to a drain ditch that had about 150 ducks in it the night before. Cody had his old H&R 20 gauge and he knew he had only one shot. As the ducks got up he just shot at the main mass of birds and dropped his first mallard.

Cody has loved duck hunting ever since that time many years ago. Cody grew up hunting big game with his father and five brothers, but has been dedicated to waterfowl hunting for 13 years.

Since 2002, Cody has participated in many calling contests in the west. He participates in calling contests to practice and improve his calling ability, and to learn from other waterfowl hunters. He spends the spring and summer fishing for bass and trout on the Snake River. He also spends as much time as he can with his wife, Alyson and his new son Drayke. Cody works for Sportsman's Warehouse in Idaho Falls where he is the assistant hunting manager.

John Beckwith

John Beckwith has lived most of his 44 years in his hometown of Kent, Ohio. After spending seven years in the waterfowling mecca of West Central Illinois working as an Agricultural Chemical Sales Rep, the company transferred John and his family back to Kent. They live on the farm that has been in John's family for more than 125 years.

John began his love of waterfowling more than 25 years ago, but honed his skills during his time in Illinois. It was here that John's love of field hunting was born. He was also given the nickname of Honker Bonker by his hunting companions during his tenure in Lincoln Land. Since arriving back in Ohio, John has put his emphasis on chasing geese in the grain fields throughout his sales territory.

John has been involved in Ducks Unlimited for over 20 years and recently took out a Life Sponsorship in honor of his sons "The Five Beckwith Boys". He has also been a member of Waterfowl USA, Delta Waterfowl, the Illinois Waterfowlers Alliance and the Tri-County Duck and Goose Hunters. John also hosts the annual Honker Bonker Wild Game Banquet with the proceeds going to a local charity. In 2001, John captained the winning team in the Greater Bottineau Area Shoot Out becoming the first all Ohio team to accomplish this.

John found that many hunters didn't have the time, access to private property or the equipment necessary for hunting success, so he started Honker Bonker Waterfowl Guide Service. He has owned and operated this business for over ten years, and it has been featured in several print publications as well as several tv programs and videos.

His first waterfowling experience came from the Cuyahoga River that forms the northern most border of the family farm. It was here that John met the challenges associated with shooting woodducks in the flooded timber. He harvested his first woodducks and mallards from his family property and shot the first goose ever harvested on the farm as well.

John has always felt that it doesn't get any better than your own back yard when it comes to waterfowl hunting, and is blessed to have the fields and the river literally out his back door. He still has a soft spot in his heart for Illinois, and speaks fondly of shooting greenheads and pintails from their duck hole and geese from their pit blind. John's travels to North Dakota are also some of his best waterfowling memories.

John brings to the Zink Pro-Staff over 25 years of waterfowling experience. He has nearly the same amount of professional sales experience. His friendly demeanor, knowledge of waterfowling and his sense of humor will make him a valuable addition to the Zink Pro-Staff.

Paul Beyer

Hometown: Willows, California
Occupation: Registered Nurse, seasonal hunting guide
Areas of Hunting Expertise: White fronted geese (specs) in the field and ducks in flooded river timber
Favorite Method of Hunting: Field hunting geese and ducks in flooded timber

At a very young age Paul could be found following his father and grandfather in the shelterbelts of their home state Nebraska. Hunting red squirrels and cottontails is where he cut his teeth. Fast-forward 8 years and Paul was cut loose in the foothills of Northern California chasing all manners of game. Waterfowling became a passion one raining morning when his father received a call from a local friend that said the birds are migrating, NOW! That sky filled with waterfowl is as vivid to him now as it was 30 years ago. His passion for waterfowling has landed him in Willows, California: the heart of the Pacific Flyway. Being a Registered Nurse allows Paul to work a flexible schedule, stay on top of the migration and seasonally work as a guide for Northern California's premier snow goose outfitter Blake's Guide Service. His newest passion is running his Mud Buddy backwater motor and boat at Mud Fests and through the nastiest stuff he can find. "It's like four wheeling on the water and makes me feel like a kid again!"

Waterfowling takes a second seat only to his family. With two young water fowlers in the making, Seth and William, Paul is able to pass on his knowledge, respect and passion for the outdoors. Between Canada, North East region of California, balance of the state and the youth programs, Paul is able to extend the waterfowl tradition for well over one hundred days per year. He thanks his wife Amber for her support and extra understanding of his way of life. She gives him a very long leash.

His life spent in and out of the waterfowl trenches and guiding bring vast outdoor experience to the Avery Pro Staff. "I have spent a lot of time and money over the years on clothing and equipment, searching for the best equipment at any price. I have ended that search with Avery."

Clay Belding

Clay Belding was born in Reno, Nevada on May 12, 1978. He now lives with his brother, and fellow Pro-Staffer, Chad Belding. He is a Private Investigator. Although he grew up hunting deer and antelope, over the past couple years, has grown a passion for waterfowl hunting. He loves to call in groups of ducks with his Zink Power-Hen, but nothing gets his heart pounding more than calling in a group of geese with his Zink Little-Man.

Over the years, Clay has been involved with the Nevada Waterfowl Association, Greenwing Days, and Ducks Unlimited. He is also on the Avery Outdoors Pro-Staff, which has opened many doors. Clay cherishes the friendships that he has made in the hunting industry and looks forward to making many more.

Clay hunts in Nevada, California, and Colorado, which is his favorite. Clay has many hunting memories, but the greatest are those with his father and two brothers who started at the early age of 5.

This will be Clay's first year on the Zink Pro-Staff, which he is thankful for because it has given him many opportunities and hopefully will lead to a job in the hunting industry. Whether it is teaching the youth or learning from the pros, Clay will always be Talking the Talk.

Mark Brendemuehl

Mark Brendemuehl began hunting and fishing as a small child, trout fishing and small game hunting with his dad. His earliest memories in the outdoors are of his dad carrying him on this shoulders to the field and stream. As Mark got older, upland birds, (grouse and pheasants) were hunted in earnest, along with Wisconsins' famed Whitetail deer, with both a gun and a bow. Mark began shooting and competing in 3D archery tournaments at that time as well.

Waterfowl in southwest Wisconsin was far from abundant so Mark didn't hunt waterfowl as much as anything else. One trip to the Horicon Marsh region and he was hooked forever. Geese flew by in the thousands, the roar of their wings deafening, and that was all it took.

Moving to Minnesota in the early 90's only fueled his waterfowling bug with its rich variety of ducks and geese, and abundant numbers.

Mark is a member of the Avery Pro-Staff and works as a flyway manager for them and is on their sporting dog committee. He loves working dogs and helping others with their dogs. Mark also does a lot of waterfowl photography. You will find him at the refuges when the season is closed taking photos of the swans and geese, or in the summer, the local lake working his Lab " Coot."

Marks' "real job" is a county correctional officer. He also teaches there and around the state in " Use of Force", spontaneous knife defense, chemical agents, defensive tactics and the FN303.

Nate Caldwell

Nate Caldwell, 30 years old, grew up and still resides in beautiful Colorado. Known for its big game hunting, Colorado also boasts some of the best wingshooting in the country. That fine waterfowl hunting is what has molded Nate in the fanatic waterfowler that he is.

Since he was first allowed to go hunting with his dad when he was young, he has had a passion for hunting waterfowl that is seldom seen. He is a student of all aspects of waterfowl game and loves to share his knowledge with others.

Nate's commitment to the finer aspects of our sport have lead him to the Pro-Staffs of Zinc Calls and Avery Outdoors. He enjoys greatly the opportunity that is awarded him to share with others the passion of waterfowl hunting.

Nate took up competition calling in 2002 and was crowned the 2004 Colorado State Goose Calling Champion. He has placed in several other contests across the West in the past few years. He hopes to continue in the long tradition of championship callers in the Zink crew.

Jeff Coates

Being born in Havre De Grace, Maryland, on the shores on the famed Susquehanna Flats, its no wonder Jeff's passion and motivating drive is "Ducks, Dogs & Decoys" 365 days a year, its what defines his life style. Jeff's love for waterfowl and the outdoors has offered a chance to make a career of guiding fulltime for seaducks, diving ducks and brant. Carving decoys... cork gunning decoys along with the privilege of carving the wooden master decoys for Avery's Greenhead Gear Seaduck Decoys. Dogs... his 3 Black Labrador Female crew- Coot, Diamond & Poacher, are family members. An intrigue part of his bird retrieving, running AKC Hunt test and Field Trials to training daily in the "off season", Jeff's girls are by his side. Photography... his camera is always ready for his eye to capture that "perfect shot", in fact now during the season, Jeff finds more enjoyment shooting his digital camera rather his 12 ga.

Brant hunting, calling Brant is a favorite of Jeff’s when it comes to open water calling… “There’s nothing better than setup over the decoys on the big water when a flock fly’s by, you hit the call and have them on a sting listening right to you”!

As Zink Prostaffer, Jeff brings aboard a strong day in, day out common sense knowledge on what’s need to be successful which he'd like the opportunity to share, just like was shared with him some many times before. This makes Jeff a great fit to the Zink Calls Family!

Jason Connellee

Jason Connellee, 34 years old, comes from a long line of waterfowl heritage. Following in his father's footsteps, Jason pursues waterfowl with an extreme passion and dedication. From participating in banding programs, establishing nesting habitat on or around nearby farms, to scouting and hunting, to competing in goose calling contests, he focuses on waterfowl 365 days a year. Jason resides in Port Deposit, MD, where a lot of well know decoy carvers and hunters live.

The "Upper Bay" area, as it is known locally, was a mecca for market hunters and sportmen during the early 1900's. Jason works for his family business, the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Havre de Grace, MD. His family has had the business since the early 60's. Jason has worked almost every facet of the business, from sales, food service, actual production of Pepsi Cola products, to maintaining the fleet of vehicles, and general plant management.

Hunting for about 21 years now, he has tried deer hunting, upland, and other various sports, but finds that waterfowl, mainly goose hunting, is his "bread and butter." More than anything he loves calling geese in for hunters. He finds that when he can "communicate" with a single bird or a flock, and get them to commit, that is what it's all about.

Jason firmly believes in never shooting a roost area no matter how hard times are or how many birds are using it. He believes if you disturb a roost, it will push the birds out of the area. Jason works diligently on managing areas for hunting. He does not hunt an area too hard, and watches for new birds in the area. He belongs to several organizations, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, NRA, and Delta Waterfowl. Jason also participates in the local FHFH program (Farmers Hunters Feeding the Hungry). He hunts mainly with a couple of close friends in his home area.

Bagging his first Canada goose with his grandfather is one of many great memories Jason likes to reflect on. He's told the story many times. It was a Thanksgiving morning. His grandfather, father, and younger brother were in a back marsh goose hunting. A lone goose came flying up the creek. Jason stood up, shouldered his double barrel 20 gauge and fired off the first shot. He missed. His grandfather standing behind him, quietly said "lead'em 2 feet; don't stop your swing." His second shot, following the advice from his grandfather, folded the goose instantly. From then on he was hooked for life!

Captain Tom Cornicelli

Captain Tom Cornicelli has been professionally guiding for more than twenty years and has become one of the most well known and progressive guides in the country. A native of Long Island, New York, he has received widespread acclaim for his talents as an artist and full time waterfowl and fishing guide. He has appeared on nation wide television and his renowned service has been featured in local newspapers and various outdoor publications such as "The New York Times", "Sportfisherman", "Sporting Classics", "Wildfowl", and "Gray's Sporting Journal" just to mention a few.

As a high profile charter boat captain and angler, he is a five time I.G.F.A. (International Game Fish Association) world record holder on the fly rod and his accomplishments on the water are unrivaled. During the off-season Tom is a full time wildfowl artist and has been creating his art since 1987. It all started in the salt marshes of Long Island. In those days Tom carved decoys for hunting. After being urged by a friend to attend some of the local carving shows, Tom's work quickly became competitive at the world class level of competition. Since 1992 he has consistently placed in numerous shows throughout the country. His most recent win, was at the prestigious Ward Foundation's 2004 World Carving competition, when he was awarded "Best in Show" World Gunning Pairs Division. His highly collectible gunners are in numerous states and three countries. As member of Ducks Unlimited, Tom's work has raised thousands of dollars for the conservation of wetlands in the United States. His energy and enthusiasm for his craft has never been greater and has not gone unnoticed. He was recently recruited by Avery Outdoors to compliment their Greenhead Gear line of decoys.

A much sought after speaker and consummate teacher, his presentations on waterfowling and fishing are unparalleled. If you have ever heard Tom speak, you have heard just a taste of his powers of observation afield and the ability to communicate these insights. Whether it be open water hunting for divers, gunning puddlers, or field shooting for geese, this veteran guide is considered by many to be one of the best in the business and his passion for waterfowl is exhibited in his art, photography, and career.

Paul Cupka

Paul Cupka resides in Central Virginia with his wife Jen and their daughter McKenna. The Cupka family lives on their 80 acre farm, which Paul has been and continues to develop into a hunting and retriever training playground for his family and friends.

Coming from a family of outdoorsmen, the instinct and desire for pursuing game burns deep inside. Paul (or Cup as his friends call him) began bow hunting deer as a teen and quickly fell in love with the up close and personal encounters which only bow hunting has to offer- or so he thought! Soon after high school, Paul enlisted in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. This role showed him more of the world and all the different cultures that he never knew existed. While not deployed, he chased Texas whitetails, fished, and was introduced to waterfowl. From the first time out, he was torn up with the sport.

After being stationed back in Virginia, it was "game on" to learn as much as he could about the habits and patterns of waterfowl, along with communicating to and decoying these birds. After the military Paul become a General Contractor- the only job which allows him to continuously spend countless hours a field scouting, hunting and trying to figure out all the details in the ever changing conditions of all wildlife. At the age of 29, he has hunted all across the States and in the Canadian Province's of Saskatchewan, British Columbia and the North West Territories for ducks and geese along with big game such as deer, bear, elk, caribou, turkey and any other animal that he can communicate with via calling. He strongly believes that just when one thinks they have a hunt or situation all figured out, Mother Nature and its quarry ends up throwing a nasty curve ball that leaves one scratching their head; and that is the best part of this never ending game.

As a father, husband, business owner, and amateur retriever trainer along with Pro-Staffing for Zink Calls and Avery Outdoors, there is rarely a dull moment. In between it all Paul enjoys fishing, the shooting sports and taking the youth of today outdoors to introduce them to all there is which hunting has to offer.

Sean Finke

Sean Finke grew up on the eastern shores of Grand Lake St. Mary's in Ohio. His earliest outdoor memories are of hunting waterfowl and doves and also fishing for crappie. Sean's first waterfowling experience involved sitting in a fence row with his grandfather and uncle trying to decoy geese with two dozen Johnson folding goose decoys, blowing an Olt goose call, but mostly pass shooting. Now, at 31 years of age, Sean has nineteen years of waterfowling experience to draw on. Those early days pass shooting geese inspired Sean to look for ways to bring the birds closer. The desire to finish geese in the decoys has pushed him to constantly improve his techniques in dry fields and over water.

Sean's love of the outdoors guided him through college at Ohio State University, and led to a career with the Ohio Division of Wildlife. He started his career banding ducks, geese and doves at Mercer Waterfowl Area, but later Sean went to work at London State Fish Hatchery. He now spends the off-season improving fishermen's odds by raising muskies, rainbow and brown trout, hybrid striped bass, walleye and saugeye. His career also allows Sean to teach hunter education and youth waterfowl clinics throughout Ohio. Sean is married to Linda and they have a daughter, Laney.

Being from Ohio too, Sean was very fortunate to have met Fred Zink in 1995. There friendship as grown throughout the years and has led to many hunts, and presented Sean with the opportunity to appear on Mossy Oak's Whistling Wings, and to help Fred at various trade shows presenting Zink Calls and Avery Outdoors to the public. With everything that Sean has going on with work and the family, Sean still finds the time to hang out with his true buddy, Hunter, his 11 year old chocolate lab.

Scott Gablehouse

Scott went on his first goose hunt when he was 13 years old. It was a day filled with lots of geese while shooting a limit of giant honkers at close range. The thrilling hunt ignited Scott's desire for hunting and he has not stopped hunting waterfowl since. Now 26 years old and residing in Greeley, Colorado, Scott is involved in all types of hunting ranging from chasing Rocky Mountain Elk to the once in a while upland bird hunt.

During his college years, Scott gained tremendous experience hunting Canadian geese near Sterling, Colorado. After college, Scott moved back to Greeley bringing home his wife Janna and years of hunting experience that has given him an edge in the competitive front range area of Colorado.

Scott now spends his winter days hunting geese in the corn fields around Greeley guiding for Waterfowl Haven Outfitters, where he has been a guide for 4 successful years. While guiding, Scott has been apart of many youth waterfowl hunts and is able to share his knowledge with new waterfowlers. Scott is also able to bring the Zink philosophy to many hunters throughout the season while also learning on every hunt. Scott never misses the chance, when not guiding, to go hunting with buddies who share the same passion for goose hunting. Scott spends the rest of his free time working as operations manager for Foothills Landscape Maintenance. This is the perfect job for him, allowing him the opportunity to work and hunt with his friends.

Scott's experience calling geese in the field has transferred to calling on the stage. He won his 1st contest in the summer of 2005, winning the Stillwater Classic Novice contest and finished 2nd in the Stillwater Classic Open the same day. Scott has several top 5 finishes under his belt and hopes to continue the Zink legacy with many more wins.

Steve Mealman

Home: Lakeville, MN
Age: 24

I was born in May, and the first time I went waterfowl hunting was October of the same year. My dad put me in my car set right next to the wet dog. I have been hunting with him ever since. I have been extremely lucky when it comes to hunting and fishing. I have hunted, fished, and raised and competed with labs ever since I can remember. I grew up duck hunting small potholes, and fields in Southern Minnesota around the Rochester area. I really started to learn how to goose hunt when I was about 12 when my dad bought me 2 dozen shell decoys, and I would hunt the heavily pressured birds around my house. I went to Saskatchewan to goose hunt the same year, and I have never been the same. Waterfowl hunting is in my blood. Duck and Goose hunting has taken me to a lot of amazing laces from Northern Saskatchewan to Argentina. I first began Guiding goose hunts in 2002 at Firewater in South Dakota. I was able to buy half the lodge, and be partners with my good friend Justin Tackett.

I also love to fish, growing up in Minnesota you always have a great place to fish right around your house. I am primarily a Walleye and Northern Pike fisherman, but I have just as much fun catching 1/2 lbs sunfish. I have been fortunate to take some great fishing tips. I have gone to the Northern West Territory 6 different times, and Have caught over 100 Northern Pike over 40". Once I caught one of those lunkers I was hooked.

I went to college at Bemidji State University in Northern Minnesota were I learned to trap. My roommate from Baudette , MN was the one who introduced me to the world of trapping in the winter. I trapped beavers, bobcat, Fishers, Pine Martins, Mink, and Otters. It was truly a learning experience. I learned more about the outdoors will snowshoeing my trap line in the winter, than with any other outdoor activity.

The activity that takes up a majority of my time, and effort is training, and competing with labs. I grew up with labs my entire life. My father raised and breed field trial labs, and we always had a litter of puppies for me to play with. I ran and titled my first dog in an AKC event at age 8. I have 6 labs right know all compete in retriever events. I compete with three of them in hunt test and a few field trials. These three Echo, Loki, and Otis are also my guide dogs at Firewater. My three others compete only in field trials, and they are Cash, Sally, and Calie. They are all with Field trial Trainer Danny Farmer. All of my dogs are 3 years old or younger, and I spend 4 to 5 days a week training them all year round. It is a busy schedule with these 6 come trial season, but it is all worth it when they do a great job.

I have been very lucky in my life getting to travel to amazing places following my dream. I have to thank my father for introducing me to the outdoors, and the world of labs. He has taught me that it is all about the experience, and that getting your limit every day has nothing to do with being a great hunter.

Jeremy McIntyre

Occupation: Manufacturers Representative (Agricultural/Irrigation) Industry
Areas of Hunting Expertise: Waterfowl
Favorite Method Of Hunting: Flooded Rice/Timber

Jeremy McIntyre was born in April of 1975 and currently resides in Yuba City, CA. He has a wonderful wife Melissa, and three beautiful children, his daughters Morgan and Alex and his son Cory. He grew up in Fernley, NV. He has been hunting with his family since the age of 6. Some of his fondest memories are of hunting big game in Northern Nevada with his dad and uncles. He took his first deer at the age of 12 and his first antelope at the age of 15. He grew up hunting ducks and geese on the Stillwater Wildlife Refuge and at the Greenhead Duck Club outside of Fallon, NV. Jeremy enjoys taking his children hunting and feels it is very important to teach the youth of today about the outdoors.

He has developed an even greater passion for waterfowl since moving to the center of the pacific flyway. Jeremy is fortunate enough to have a flooded rice blind in his back yard. Whether it's catching a quick hunt before work in the morning or taking the kids out for an evening hunt, it's what he loves to do.

Jeremy is currently working as a sales rep. in the agricultural and irrigation industry in Northern California. This gives him ample opportunity to meet new faces and garnish new places to hunt. His favorite region to hunt is the flooded rice in Northern California. He hopes to one day have his own guide service and travel North America hunting waterfowl. He is a member of the Nevada Waterfowl Association, the California Waterfowl Association, The North American Hunting Club and Ducks Unlimited. Jeremy is on the Zink Calls Pro-Staff as well as the Avery Outdoors Pro-Staff. He is very grateful for the opportunity and hopes this will open many doors for him in the hunting industry.

Kevin Meier

Growing up in the "middle of Minnesota", Kevin, age 33, appreciated the outdoor opportunities surrounding him. Kevin was born and raised in Sauk Centre, Minnesota and currently resides in Sartell, Minnesota with his wife and two children. Kevin spends his days as a construction superintendent, however is always thinking of new and innovative ways to hunt the Canada Goose.

Since the early age of eight, shadowing his dad from pothole to pothole was Kevin's introduction to waterfowling. When the opportunity came for Kevin to shoot his own ducks, floating the backyard river became the weekend ritual. This is where the first duck was shot - a hen Mallard.

Fishing, deer hunting, and sporting activities took a back seat when the first Canada goose responded to Kevin's blowing of his first goose call. It was not until he met Fred Zink that he understood the "science" involved in hunting and calling geese. Kevin was inspired by Fred's knowledge and expertise in the waterfowling industry and started to blow Zink's acrylic Paralyzer SR-1 goose call. In addition to the acrylic, Kevin needed to have the wood Paralyzer SR-1. The pair now hang on Kevin's lanyard along with Zink's Power clucker, Little Man, Power Maximus, Paralyzer XR-2, and the Power Hen. Kevin believes that in order to fool the "smartest" geese, one needs to have the best equipment and technique.

Central Minnesota field hunting is Kevin's preferred method and region to hunt. Field hunting requires the need for strategic pre-hunt planning. This planning can be as exciting and intense as the actual hunt. Kevin takes the role of chief when it comes to organizing, scouting, calling, and teaching his hunting group. According to Kevin, one benefit of hunting close to home is being able to hunt with friends, family, and most recently his son Spencer.

Kevin is always ready and eager to "talk the talk" with anyone willing to listen. Kevin finds himself at local retail stores in the waterfowl department waiting for the opportunity to promote Zink Calls. The passion Kevin feels for hunting and calling Canada geese is evident on hunting mornings when three alarm clocks ring, guaranteeing an on time arrival for the morning hunt. Kevin adds that he rarely needs the alarm clocks to wake him.

Kevin's life philosophy is that everyone should have a passion for something; like he does for goose hunting. Kevin invites anyone interested in calling lessons, hunting tips, or exchanging hunting stories to give him a call. Kevin can be reached at 320-255-9628.

Robb Nicolay

Robb Nicolay is 25 years of age and is from Torrington, Wyoming home of the 2 shot goose hunt that is held annually in December. For a living, Robb works as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. When it comes down to it, Robb's favorite game to hunt is waterfowl. Decoy placement and calling is an aspect of waterfowl hunting at which Robb feels he excels. Although Robb feels that he has a broad knowledge of decoy placement and calling, he feels that there is always more out there to learn. Robb feels that when a person thinks that they know everything about ducks and geese, that is when the birds will fool hunters the most.

Robb's favorite method of hunting waterfowl is being in a blind or pit with his father Larry Nicolay and the rest of his hunting partners. However, Robb feels that it is important to stay mobile to be able to be where the birds are whether it is using Finisher Blinds or Power Hunter blinds.

The calling scene is something new for Robb. His contest experience is limited but successful. In August of 2004, Robb placed second in the duck calling and sixth in the goose calling at Cabela's Calling Contest in Sidney, Nebraska. Robb took first in the open duck at the 2005 Cabela's Calling Contest in Sidney, Nebraska and finishing 5th in the open goose. In 2006 Robb finished 4th in both the open goose and two man goose at Cabela's Fall Expo calling contest. Robb is also a proud member of Ducks Unlimited. He feels that the money that is raised from this organization gives a bright outlook for the future of waterfowl hunting. Along with being on the Zink Calls Pro-Staff, Robb also has the privilege of being on the Avery Pro-Staff.

Robb's guiding experience is limited to the 2 shot goose hunt in Torrington, Wyoming. In 2005 Robb guided a second place finish in the Goshen County 2 Shot Goose Hunt. For the 2006 season Robb will be guiding for North Platte Lodge Outfitters for the Torrington, Wyoming area. Robb was also offered a guide position with Big grass Outfitters in Manitoba, Canada two years ago. At the time Robb was in college and felt it was more important to finish his degree. The earliest memory that Robb has in hunting took place when he was seven years old when he witnessed his first group of mallards parachuting into the decoy spread. The reason that this sticks in his mind is because it was also the first group of mallards that he had. Robb credits his father and mother for introducing him to hunting and the outdoors. Robb has tremendous respect for his father and mother for getting him started hunting at a young age and everything that Robb has accomplished in hunting is due to his parents.

The region that Robb likes to hunt is around the Torrington, Wyoming area located in the Central Flyway. This is the area that Robb has always hunted and has access to. Someday Robb hopes to have the opportunity to hunt in Canada with Buck Paradise Outfitters. When Robb is not hunting he can be found spending time with his wife Tara Nicolay and new born son Tyler Nicolay. Robb looks forward to having the opportunity to introduce and share a blind with Tyler in the years to come.

Robb is a young individual that is confident that he can bring new ideas and filming opportunities to Zink Calls. Robb will also bring added excitement and enthusiasm for the outdoors to the Pro-Staff. He also feels that he can introduce more youth to the outdoors because after all, the youth of today is the future for hunting. Robb also hopes to introduce new people to the most realistic calls on the market, Zink Calls. Finally, Robb feels that he can properly represent Zink Calls by competing and putting on seminars for hunters around his region. Robb is honored and proud to be apart of such a prestigious company.

Shawn Nyholt

Shawn Nyholt was born and raised on a farm near North Battleford , Saskatchewan in an area that is recognized for its world famous waterfowl and whitetail deer hunting. It was here as a young boy, countless hours and cold early mornings were spent following his father through duck marshes or tracking weary old whitetails to have that one chance to make it happen. These years were the start of what his life is about today. At the age of 30 Shawn's dreams really came to surface in 2005 when Waterfowl hunting became his main focus. Co-owning and operating a waterfowl guiding business has provided him more time in the field as well as a chance to share stories and experiences with fellow hunters. Shawn is also a Pro Staffer for the number one waterfowl company in North America Avery Outdoors. The addition of Avery's life like decoys and field proven equipment, has helped placed his guiding business into an elite service.

A graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, Shawn still keeps involved in the industry of Agriculture in his off season. Shawn and his wife, Lauren treasure all their time in the outdoors whether they are spotting waterfowl, baiting whitetail stands or fishing trophy walleye & northern pike.

. To be able to do something you love and make a living at it is something not everyone gets to do in life. Developing friendships and ideas with fellow hunters is something he looks forward to ever hunting season. When it comes to waterfowl or deer hunting, setting a field spread out or climbing into a stand on cold early Saskatchewan morning is something he will cherish for ever.

Tyler Rednour

Tyler Rednour lives just outside of Coulterville, Illinois. He is sixteen years old, and was introduced to hunting by his father and other family members. He first started hunting waterfowl when he was twelve. By then he had already killed a few deer and just about everything he could legally shoot. His first waterfowl hunt was actually scary. He was hunting by Oakdale, Illinois. It was early and the season and there were not many birds down yet. It was Tyler and his brother and uncle. Tyler was using his uncle’s 12 gauge 3 ½ Remington 870. Tyler was scared that he might have to shoot the gun. At the time he only weighed about eighty pounds. He was wishing nothing would come in. Luckily nothing ever did come in. A year later he finally killed his first bird. It was a gadwall. He shot one on a youth season hunt. He was hunting in a buck brush slough. He shot 24 times killing two ducks. Later that season he shot his first goose. He was hunting at Gander Hill Goose Club. Two big old honkers came in and he jumped up and blasted one of them. The rest of the hunter in the pit shot at the other goose but missed. The other goose had a leg band. The goose Tyler had shot was not completely dead yet. So he ran him down and jumped on him. The goose eventually died. He ran back to the pit with blood all over him. From that point on Tyler has been hunting waterfowl as much as he can.

Tyler has hunted waterfowl in all types of situations. He has shot Speckle bellies in all sorts of places. He has decoyed snow geese in wheat fields. He has killed ducks on potholes. He has fooled Canada geese in the cornfields. His most favorite has to be hunting Canada geese in the fields. The elusive Canada goose seems to be the hardest to fool. That is why he likes to hunt them the most. By the time the Canadians get here they have seen everything and heard everything. One of his favorite hunts was on a wheat field that bordered a pond. He and a fellow guide were guiding three clients at the Gander Hill Goose Club. It was early January and we had just got a few new birds down. The hunt was very fast. We had two Canada’s come in early and they both were killed at about fifteen yards. Later on we had a single goose come in and he did not leave. Then about an hour later we had four come in and we killed three. Just after picking those birds up we had ten Canada’s come in. We shot four and were limited out. Tyler has been contest calling for a few years and has won a few junior goose and duck calling contests. He also won the 2004 U.S Open Novice goose calling contest in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Zack Rednour

Zack Rednour is 21 years old and was born in Odessa, Texas. He now lives in the small town of Coulterville, Illinois. Zack lives with his brothers Tyler 18, Logan 15, and his parents Tom and Tammy Rednour. Zack is a student athlete at McKendree College, in Lebanon, Illinois. At McKendree, Zack plays on the golf team and tries to maintain good grades.

While Zack has hunted all types of game, the pursuit of waterfowl is without a doubt his favorite. Since, his first duck hunt in the sloughs of southern Illinois, Zack has become a hardcore waterfowl enthusiast. Zack has hunted all types of situations from woodies and mallards in the river bottoms, to hunting Canadas, specks, and snows in large fields. While loving every situation in hunting, sitting in a an Avery Finisher hunting migrating Canada Geese is no doubt second to none in Zack's opinion. However, with the large number of specks now in southern Il, using smalls spreads to harvest specks is coming in at a close second. Even though he spends a majority of his waterfowl season guiding for Gander Hill Goose Club in Southern Illinois, Zack's favorite hunting memories are goose hunting with friends and family.

Throughout his life, Zack has had many accomplishments, but becoming a competitive contest goose caller is his best accomplishment. Although he has only been on the circuit a short time, he has achieved some success. Some of his finishes include 1st in the U.S. Novice 2003, 1st in the Kentuckiana Regional 3-Man Goose, 3rd at the 2004 I.W.A Masters of the North Two Man Goose, 4th at the 2005 I.W.A Masters of the North Two Man Goose, and 3rd in the Winchester World Open 2003.

Throughout the fall and winter Zack spends most of his time guiding for Gander Hill Goose Club. Gander Hill Goose Club offers hunts for many species of ducks and geese and has one of the highest speck and snow populations in Southern Illinois. They offer heated pits and blinds on large open water, flooded fields, potholes, and large open fields with enormous amounts of decoys.

Zack feels that he brings a number of positives to the Zink Calls Pro-Staff. He's been hunting waterfowl like a religion for about many years. He is involved in guiding waterfowl hunts during the fall and winter. He also helps in the advertising and selling of Cornfield Camouflage Products along with Zink Calls. He competes in goose calling competitions and represents Zink Calls while competing. He has a very positive attitude toward calling and hunting. Zack also loves to talk to people about hunting and waterfowl in general. Zack has a huge passion for waterfowl, waterfowl hunting and he shoots ducks and geese by luring them in with a Zink call.

Kelly Ross

Kelly Ross is 40 years old and lives in Norwalk, Ohio with his wife, Lisa and his two children, Danny and Corie. Kelly started waterfowl hunting around the age of 11. Most of Kelly's knowledge was gained by experience through trial and error as Kelly had no mentor to teach him. However like others, he also gained some of his knowledge by hunting and guiding with various clubs. Kelly's other hobbies consist of contest calling, decoy carving, and is an active member of the Zink Calls and Avery Outdoors Pro-Staffs.

Kelly was the very first Pro-Staffer for Zink Calls, which was a spring board that offered him other opportunities in the waterfowl industry. One of those "open doors" was Avery Outdoors based out of Memphis, Tennessee. Kelly has been on several hunts with Avery in Canada. Kelly has also carved decoys for Avery's Greenhead Gear line. Kelly has often been rewarded for his carving talents. He received a ribbon at the World Championship in Ocean City, Maryland by taking 3rd best of show Lem and Steve Ward Gunning Pairs Division. Kelly is also an accomplished caller. He has won multiple duck and goose calling titles. The Ohio regional goose, the Ohio State goose and just to name a couple. You can see Kelly in action demonstrating his calling and hunting abilities in the next Zink Calls 24/7 video.

    Jeff Shelby

Jeff is 17 years old and lives in Concord, Ohio with his mom, dad and his sister Jacqui. In the off-season Jeff plays baseball for Riverside High School and spends the summer months shooting sporting clays and bass fishing. He started hunting waterfowl and turkey at the age of 12 with his dad and cousins. On his first duck hunt on the Cuyahoga River, he managed to shoot a pair of wood ducks with his 20 gauge. The following spring he took his first Ohio turkey, a twenty pound tom with two beards (9" & 10"). Jeff spends most of the days hunting the rivers and marshes of northeast Ohio. He also enjoys tagging along with his dad on the family's annual duck hunting trip to the Finger Lakes of New York where the hunting can be outstanding. "I love being outdoors! You get to see so many things at daybreak that most people never see. Some of the coolest things I have seen are the Northern Lights on my first trip to Magee Marsh, turkeys gobbling from the cry of a mature bald eagle as it flew overhead and watching snow squalls move in from across a goose field. For me the best part of hunting is being outdoors with friends." Jeff favorite method of hunting is laying out in a cornfield and having the ducks and geese come in right on top of you. Jeff got into the duck and goose-calling contest on a dare from his dad. He borrowed a duck call from a vendor at the event and placed second in the junior division. He has been hooked on calling contests ever since. Jeff says, "It's similar to hunting because your meeting people who are passionate about what they are doing."

    Mike Smothers

Mike Smothers is 18 years old, and lives in Southern Illinois. Mike started waterfowling when he was 13 years old. Most of his success was learned from many of the people who live near the Crab Orchard refuge. But for calling skills Mike listen and learned from others who have had success in the past. Mike has hunted in one of the best spots in Illinois since he was in Junior high School.

Mike also guides at many local clubs in Marion, like Crab Orchard Hunting Club, and Pikes hunting club. Traveling to northern Illinois to hunt geese is a favorite time for him. Other than guideing during waterfowl season, he also participates in calling contests. Working the contest circuit he has won several events and hopes to bring more success to Zink Calls. Mike enjoys being around several of the Zink Pro-Staffers, he watches and learns something every time he is around them. If it has to deal with hunting or calling, he is always paying close attention. He believes when he first picked up one of the Zink calls "The Money Maker", he felt like he would have a great success with it in the future.

    Eric Stanke

Eric Stanke was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin on November 12, 1976. He lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he works as an outside technician for the local phone company, AT&T. Eric was raised just outside the Horicon Marsh. He shot his first geese there with his father when he was 12. With continued support and resources from his dad he carried on the love for the outdoors. Waterfowling has become his passion although he also enjoys the occasional whitetail hunt, but has been hooked on turkey hunting in the spring since the first gobbler met his maker years ago. Add on to that the newest addiction, predator hunting, and you have a true outdoorsman always up for a hunt.

With a work schedule in the fall tailored around goose and duck hunting in Wisconsin, his travels take him all over the U.S. From the spring snow hunts in Missouri, to North Dakota and Canada in the fall chasing snows, Canada geese and mallards. Missing a day in the field is rare for him. The most rewarding part of traveling is meeting new people and learning new things. Always willing to try something new keeps him a step a head of the competition.

Eric brings a ton of enthusiasm to the Zink Calls Pro-Staff as well as some experience in the field and on the contest stage. He has won the WI State Goose Calling Championship in 2005, as well as placing 2nd in 2004, and 3rd in 2006. Determination and practice will keep him coming back to try and win again. Eric is also on the Avery Pro-Staff, getting to travel and meet new people is the biggest reward for him, but he also enjoys working the shows with them and helping to try and reinvent the wheel, always brainstorming new ideas of change and improvement.

Eric is currently living in Green Bay with his fiance Heather, and dog Maddy. Being able to hunt all season is aided by a very understanding better half. Summers are kept busy training Maddy for the upcoming season. Eric has also been involved with and is on the Avery Sporting Dog Specialists Team. This has been a real plus for him being able to use and test out all the new latest and greatest dog products available, as well as keep his lab on her toes.

Eric brings 18 years of experience from all ends of the spectrum, and he looks forward to helping pass on the addiction to other younger hunters and outdoorsman, as well as keep improving his own skills. He is going to help the Zink staff in any way he can, always carrying a professional attitude with him and the ability to help.

    Bob Taylor

Bob was raised on a farm on a small Island in Northern Ontario(St. Joesph Island). Being surrounded by waterfowl, this is where he got his passion for waterfowl. Bob can remember his first time goose hunting with his father, at an early age of 9. "I remember sitting there and thinking to myself, Man I can't wait until I can carry a gun!"

From that day forward waterfowling has been apart of Bob's life. Bob now resides in Belleville, Ontario where he works for the town in the off season and also has the pleasure of being a waterfowl guide for Grant Kuypers of "Buck Paradise Outfitters" in Saskachewan. Over the years Bob has relized that the key to success is "reading the geese and also being where the birds want to be." "Weather in a corn field or a pea field there's nothing like seeing those big honkers lock up and commit!"

Bob takes great pride in what he does, and is a proud Zink Pro Staffer. He is a great embassador to the sport of waterfowling, and is always willing to lend, a hand or talk ducks and geese with anyone. When not hunting Bob looks forward to spending time with his family and friends and talking about old times.

    Steve Todtz

Steve Todtz, age 32 of Walkerton, Ontario was hatched and raised in the Walkerton area. I have been hunting waterfowl since I was 15 years old. I learned all my techniques from trial and error. At the age of 21 I started my guide service called Grey-Bruce Outfitters. I have provided waterfowl clients with 12 years of memorable guided hunts. I have enjoyed hunting with the Mossy Oak whistling Wings crew in 2001 "Ontario Goose Hunt" When Waterfowl season is closed I am guiding turkey and deer hunters. While guiding for the past two turkey seasons in Ontario, I have sustained an 85% success rate per person per day of turkey hunting. I enjoy bow hunting for big Whitetails once all the Waterfowl has left the area. I hunt and guide for waterfowl for 60 days each year. Using Zink calls and Greenhead gear makes my job that much easier! The start of a good hunts starts with using the best equipment for the job.

In the off season I work for an Electricity company as a Forester. I worked for the MNR as a Conservation Officer for 5 years. I enjoy talking to people at hunting shows and sharing my techniques and learning from others.

I have two awesome daughters, Logan 5 and Megan 2 which love to hunt waterfowl with me ever chance they get. When one is calling and the other is flagging the geese don’t have a chance.

My goal is to have both my daughters become a goose guide for Grey Bruce Outfitters.

    Scott Turpen

Scott Turpen was born and raised in Tennessee most of that time in the town of Clarksville in northwest middle Tennessee. Scott's father introduced him to hunting at the age of 7. His first hunting experience was squirrel hunting, but the hunt that got him addicted to waterfowl hunting was an early season teal hunt that same year. Although he was too young to shoot, he was not too young to be hooked.

Scott has duck and goose hunted around northwest middle Tennessee for over 25 years with some of the best hunters in the area and learning from them. He feels that if someone thinks they know everything about waterfowl then they'll never improve their hunting. What keeps bringing Scott back each time is learning more about waterfowl, being with his Dad, friends and introducing someone to the excitement of flock of geese, feet dragging 20 yards out when the shot is called.

Scott Turpen is 33 years old and lives in Clarksville, Tennessee with his wife Donna of 9 years and their baby girl Sarah. Sarah already has her first call, a pink Power Hen. He is employed by the USDA's Farm Service Agency. During his spare time you can find him spending time with his family, looking for geese or working with his dog "Chief". You can also find him TALKING THE TALK about Zink calls whenever possible.

Scott also enjoys turkey and deer hunting as well as crappie and bass fishing on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. The last couple of years he has gone to South Dakota in the fall pheasant hunting. But his real passion is chasing ducks and geese and getting them close.

Scott is adamant about having the most realistic equipment like GHG decoys and it doesn't end with his choice of calls. That's why he has used Zink calls since Fred made the first run of SR-1's back in 2000. He still has that call and has added a few more Zink calls to his arsenal. In addition to being part of the Zink Pro Staff Scott is also on the Avery Pro Staff. Two companies in the industry that he feels provide the best equipment to waterfowl hunters.

Scott brings to Zink calls a confidence in the product that he hopes future customers see and an even a stronger desire to help people with their calling. He feels Zink calls are the most realistic on the market from the polycarbonate calls like the polycarbonate Power Hen to the acrylic goose calls such as the Money Maker.

    Jimmy Wren

Born and raised on the famous Chesapeake Bay in Havre de Grace Maryland, Jimmy's passion for hunting and fishing began at a very young age. He was hunting with his father before he could even shoot a gun. His father took him to hunt geese and ducks on the flats near their home. At an early age Jimmy began to understand the waterfowl habits and migration patterns. He was fortunate enough to have some of the best waterfowl hunters in Maryland take him under their wing to show him the ins and outs of hunting. He learned a lot about waterfowl and made many good friends. For the past four years they have escaped to North Dakota for a week of hunting and fun. This trip has become a tradition for him and his friends that will continue for years to come.

At age eighteen, Jimmy began guiding for Black Duck Outfitters. He had many successful hunts over the three years he spent working with them. After Black Duck, he began guiding goose and duck parties for Lowers Hunting Unlimited. During his time spent with LHU, he appeared on Taxidermy Trails, on the Outdoor Channel, hunting Canadian geese in Maryland. He also can be seen on Mossy Oak Whistling Wings 10 hunting divers in the Chesapeake Bay. Now, at age twenty four, Jimmy works for Stanfield Hunting Outfitters in Northwest Texas guiding hunts for Canadian and Snow Geese. Over the three months he has spent in Texas, Jimmy's parties have accumulated over 1,100 birds.

Hunting and fishing his whole life, Jimmy had found goose hunting to be his passion. When he is not guiding he spends his time in the field with his friends taking advantage of the great hunting that Maryland has to offer. During the off season, he enjoys fishing for Rockfish in the Bay and competing in tournaments. In addition to being a pro staffer for Zink Calls, Jimmy also belongs to other organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl and Maryland Sportsman Association. Having many years of guiding under his belt has allowed Jimmy to share his experiences and learn with those of friends and clients. He hopes to continue in the direction he is headed and keep the tradition of waterfowl hunting alive.
