Clay Hudnall

Clay was born and raised in LaGrange Kentucky, which is 20 miles North East of Louisville. He started hunting at the young age of 6 and at age 8 he shot his first buck. It wasn't until age 11 that his dad took him on his first duck hunt, this is where the obsession began.

Since that first hunt Clay can't wait for the waterfowl season to roll around. Clay spent most of his water fowling trips with his favorite hunting partner, and one of his best friends, which is his younger brother Field Hudnall. "Since the day I received my drivers license Field and I would load up the duck boat and head out after ducks and geese."

Clay went to college at Western Kentucky University where he was working on a marketing degree. During a few fall semesters Clay would take off and do some guiding in North West Texas for cackler geese. "It's a great way to help pay for college, and I have met a lot of interesting people during those times." After Clay's last semester at WKU he received a job offer that he could not pass up. He would be joining the Zink Call team. This would put him back to chasing waterfowl with his brother Field, and new friend Fred Zink. "I would never have thought that I would be making a living doing something I love so much as chasing waterfowl."

During the waterfowl season you can find Clay with the Zink crew. If he is not pulling the trigger then he is behind the camera filming for Avery, Zink Calls, and clips for Mossy Oaks Whistling Wings. Clay and his brother do most of the filming for Avery and Zink Calls. "Getting a good hunt on film is just as good as shooting them."

In the off-season you can find Clay in the Zink call shop making high end duck and goose calls. You can also find him at waterfowl shows representing Avery and Zink Calls. "I am very proud to be able to represent Avery, they have excellent products for the hunters and I am glad to be apart of it." Clay loves waterfowl shows because he gets to meet a lot of people that share the same love as him, and that's chasing waterfowl.

Field Hudnall

Field Hudnall was introduced to the idea of hunting when he received a 410. single shot from his father on his first birthday. He was born and raised in LaGrange Kentucky where he began learning the skills of woodsmanship and hunting from his father and older brother Clay. As a child Field loved hunting small game on local farms. After he dropped his first greenhead with his double barrel 20 gauge at the age of eight on a western Kentucky reservoir his passion for waterfowl hunting began. Not long after Field took on an interest in the unique language of ducks and geese, calling became an additional and primary fuel for his love of waterfowling. Although ducks and geese are at the top of his list, Field also loves spring gobbler hunting in the hills of Kentucky and hunting predators year round, especially coyotes from local western Kentucky farms. Field loves to hunt just about anything he can make respond to a call.

To expand on his duck and goose calling interest Field began contest calling at the age of 18. In his very first goose calling contest in Merrelville Indiana Field placed 2nd in the Novice division. By his second year of contest calling Field placed in the top half at the world goose calling championship in Easton Maryland and captured the Kentucky State Duck calling Championship, which took him to Stuttgart Arkansas to compete in the 2000 World Duck Calling Championship. Since Field's first year of contest calling he has made quite an impact on the Professional Goose Calling Circuit.

Field wanted to continue expanding his experiences and knowledge in the waterfowling world, which found him traveling across states working for various outfitters and guide services. Field says his fondest memories of guiding took place in northwest Texas hunting Cackler Canadas or AKA "Squeakers". The parties that Field led and attended killed 1,417 geese in a month and a half period. The shooting was fun, but the fond memories came from the hard work and the life long friendships Field developed with fellow guides.

August of 02' Field moved to Clayton, Ohio and began working for renowned waterfowl hunter Fred Zink. Field started in the shop as shop manager building high end custom duck and goose calls which he continued for approximately one and half years. Field then went to school for video production and digital editing which currently places him as video production manager for Zink Calls. He still oversees final production and tuning on all custom Duck and goose calls. During the fall months Field can be found traveling across country with Fred and the Zink Crew, hunting and filming for Zink Calls, Avery Outdoors, and Mossy Oak's Whistling Wings Series. Some of his latest filming and editing projects can be found on Mossy Oak's Whistling Wings 9 and Zink Call's first full action hunting video, 24-7 "It's In The Blood."

One of Fields favorite parts of the hunting industry is traveling to all the different outdoor shows. He says working shows is one of his favorite things because the people you get to meet are excellent and he gets to interact with kids that have the same growing fire and love for duck and goose hunting.

One thing that Field always expresses is that an individual can never know all there is to know about hunting. Once a person thinks they do know all there is to know, the birds will be the first to prove him wrong. A person should always be willing to listen and learn from others and never forget the individuals that got them started and the ones that helped them along the way.

    Fred Zink

Fred Zink, is one of the nation's most recognizable faces when it comes to waterfowl hunting and competition calling. Born and raised in Clayton, Ohio, Fred was introduced to hunting and the outdoors by his father when he was just two years old. At nine years old, Fred went on his first duck hunt, and he has been hooked ever since. At 19, Fred entered his first calling competition and quickly became the most successful competitive goose caller of the 1990's. His 23 wins include three-time Grand American Champion, Grand National Champion, Winchester World Open and the AveryŽ International.

Today, Fred balances his time between his family, his hunting and all of his ventures into the outdoor industry. He enjoys traveling to shows, doing seminars and meeting people from various regions of the country and hearing their best hunting stories! Fred truly appreciates hearing others' hunting experiences, and he is constantly trying to learn from them. When he's not on the road, Fred spends every minute he can with his wife Dawn and their two children, daughter Taylor and hunting buddy Gunar.

    Gunar Zink

Gunar Zink from Clayton, Ohio, went on his first goose hunt with his dad when he was only 1.5 years old. He has been hunting ever since. Now at the ripe old age of 5, Gunar loves to go dove, squirrel, and now coyote hunting.

When he was three, he begged his dad to buy him a camouflage BB gun so he could go dove hunting. When he started squirrel hunting, the BB gun just didn't get the job done. So his Grandpa bought him a .410 shotgun. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but Grandpa couldn't wait to give it to him. Last fall he and his papa got 3 gray squirrels.

Gunar has been hanging around the call shop long before he could even walk. Now he hangs out with the guys blowing duck and goose calls and watching hunting videos. His favorite movie is "Road Trips", with Michael Waddell. He loves to watch Michael hunting deer with little Michael, and especially liked the scene when little Michael shot his first turkey. Now Gunar is talking turkeys! Gunar and his father have recently been scouting for coyotes and have been hunting several times, but never had much luck. Gunar feels like his dad isn't stealthy enough. Their luck recently changed, as they bagged their first coyote on February 2004.

If you don't catch Gunar in the call shop, then you'll probably find him watching another one of his favorite shows "American Choppers."

Gunar's favorite type of hunting situation is hunting in a field in his new Avery Youth Power Hunter over Green Head Gear Decoys, but you can also catch him in the pit with his papa as well during the waterfowl season.
