Zink Staffers have a strong showing at Waterfowl Weekend duck and goose calling contest in Western Pennsylvania. On August 2nd, Washington Pa. Gander Mountain hosted a duck and goose calling contest in conjunction with their Waterfowl Weekend Event. The contest brought callers from 3 states to compete. The senior calling contest consisted of Team Meat Goose, Team Meat Duck, Open Meat Goose, and Open Meat Duck.

The first senior contest of the day was Team Meat Goose. The call of choice for the Zink Staffers was the unanimous with the Money Maker. The only difference was the material. They were split between acrylic and maple. Zink Staffers Jimmy Wren and Jeff Shelby teamed up and took first followed up with a 3rd place finish by Erik Nilsson and Rusty Hallock.

The second contest of the day was Team Meat Duck. The choice of calls varied between the staffers during this contest. The team of Erik Nilsson and Rusty Hallock used the combination of a XR-2 and PH-1 to capture 1st place. Zink Staffers Bob Chaplin, Jimmy Wren and Jeff Shelby used the PH-2 to win 2nd and 3rd.

With the team contest complete, the open Meat Goose Contest was next. By the end of the contest, Zink Staffers held 3 of the 4 positions. Jimmy Wren captured first followed up in 3rd and 4th by Rusty Hallock and Erik Nilsson.

The last contest of the afternoon was the Open Meat Duck. Again, the Zink Staffers finished in the top spot completing the Zink sweep of the contest. Zink Staffer Jeff Shelby captured the top spot using his PH-2. Erik Nilsson finished a strong 3rd with his XR-2.

Overall, it was a great weekend of calling and a great way to start off the month of August which has plenty opportunities for calling contest.
