Bob "Chappy" Chaplin
Bob Chaplin, better known as Chappy, is originally from New Jersey but now lives here in Northern Ohio with his wife and two children. Bob has been with Zink Calls from almost the beginning, He started as a Field Staff Member with Zink, when he was working as a Operations Manager for a web-site here in the state of Ohio that dealt with what he loves best, waterfowl hunting.
It didn't take him long to move up to a Pro Staffer and with his years of dedication with Zink, he was named a Z-Unit Member last year. Chappy has worked as a guide here in Ohio & Missouri but 4 years ago he and Pro Staff Member Dan Cahl decided to start a their own guide service here in Ohio www.firstflightoutfitters.net and have been able to see not only his own children, but clients and their children be able to enjoy what waterfowling is all about.
Chappy went hunting as a boy with his father but didn't start waterfowl hunting until a friend of his took him and he was instantly hooked, it didn't take him long to know that waterfowling was where he wanted to be 24-7, and with a large population of geese here in Ohio, that's what Chappy set his goals on and has never looked back. Now on any given day you will find him anywhere from a layout boat on Lake Erie to a flooded field doing what he knows best.
Chappy brings 30 years of hunting experience with him to the Zink Calls Staff. He shows his support for the sport outside of the fields as well by making sure his children are involved with him in the outdoors. He is a Founding Father of the Ohio Waterfowler Association (OWA). Chappy says when you see him at a show, calling contest or just out scouting stop by and say hello, he loves talking the talk and has always said that waterfowling is not a passion... it's a way of life, and for him it's 24-7.
