Dave Stallard was not raised into a hunting family. Prior to hunting, Dave used his athletic abilities in baseball, basketball and soccer. Coming out of college, Dave was offered the opportunity to play pro basketball in Europe. At the same time, Dave & Brielle, his wife, were offered a position to work at a kid's camp called Camp Sankanac. At Sankanac, Dave would have the opportunity to hunt and use his knowledge and passion for hunting to reach out to other hunters and kids. Although Dave loves the game of basketball, there's nothing like the hunting lifestyle! Dave and his wife have been happily married for 3 years and now reside at Camp Sankanac in Chester County, PA. They are both excited for a new addition to their family in November, 2010 with a baby girl!
Dave's role at Camp Sankanac includes being team leader of a hunting ministry called The Call Outdoors. The Call Outdoors team travels all over the US and Canada giving waterfowl, turkey and dog training seminars. They also hold annual outdoors events at Camp Sankanac.
It was at the age of 13 when a friend introduced Dave to goose hunting. Ever since that day, Dave has had a passion for hunting and dreads the summertime off. Over the last couple of years, Dave has developed some new passions within the waterfowl industry. Dave loves to call and compete in contests. His first contest was the PA State where he was able to finish in 2nd place, 1 point behind the winner. The next year was a close finish as well. Fortunately, that year Dave ended up on top leaving him the 2008 PA State goose calling champion.
Although goose calling is exciting, Dave's favorite aspect of goose hunting is watching his favorite hunting buddy, Drake, at work retrieving geese and ducks. There's no greater joy than seeing all those long hours training a waterfowl dog pay off in the field. You can't beat watching a good dog at work!
Although Dave wasn't born into a hunting family, he's looking forward to starting his own family traditions and is excited to be a part of the Zink Calls team.
