He started hunting waterfowl and turkey at the age of 12 with his dad and cousins. On his first duck hunt on the Cuyahoga River, he managed to shoot a pair of wood ducks with his 20 gauge. The following spring he took his first Ohio turkey, a twenty pound tom with two beards (9" & 10"). Jeff spends most of the days hunting the rivers and marshes of northeast Ohio. He also enjoys tagging along with his dad on the family's annual duck hunting trip to the Finger Lakes of New York where the hunting can be outstanding. "I love being outdoors! You get to see so many things at daybreak that most people never see. Some of the coolest things I have seen are the Northern Lights on my first trip to Magee Marsh, turkeys gobbling from the cry of a mature bald eagle as it flew overhead and watching snow squalls move in from across a goose field. For me the best part of hunting is being outdoors with friends." Jeff favorite method of hunting is laying out in a cornfield and having the ducks and geese come in right on top of you. Jeff got into the duck and goose-calling contest on a dare from his dad. He borrowed a duck call from a vendor at the event and placed second in the junior division. He has been hooked on calling contests ever since. Jeff is 17 years old and lives in Concord, Ohio with his mom, dad and his sister Jacqui. In the off-season Jeff plays baseball for Riverside High School and spends the summer months shooting sporting clays and bass fishing.
