Barry Keicks

Hi my name is Barry Keicks and I am a life long resident of one of Canada's best goose hunting areas, Eastern Ontario where I'm a stationary engineer by education and when not out hunting or fishing, work for a local manufacturing facility. My Dad, Colin, introduced me to waterfowling and fishing when I was a whole lot younger than I am now, and waterfowling in particular has been a passion ever since! I have been married to my best friend Nicole for more than a few years and have three great grown kids, Cam, Ty and Courtney. Starting off in the late eighties I have been a professional Goose Guide and now I am very fortunate to be part of the Z-Units own John Cristinizani's Magnum Hunts.

The outdoors have been very good for me and in trying to give something back I am a member of Duck's Unlimited, the Ontario Federation of Hunters and Anglers and an active committee member of both our local Delta Waterfowl and NWTF chapters. As my kids were growing up I was very active in coaching the minor sports of hockey, lacrosse and soccer, I have great memories of successes the kids enjoyed while I was involved with their teams. Lately my passion for youth sports has been transferred to the outdoors where I have been quite active in youth hunts, seminars and other sponsored events. My current pet project is organizing a South Nation Delta Youth Chapter, for getting any kids interested in hunting and fishing a chance to be exposed to the outdoors is great for all involved. On top of everything else this summer I am training and working on getting ready my new Black Lab pup, Guage, ready for this hunting season and going currently through the HRC test stream. Watching a good dog work a pond or field is to me one of the truly greatest experiences you can have in waterfowling.

Since the wild turkey re-introduction in Ontario I have developed a very serious turkey hunting mania and now spend many Spring mornings chasing the big birds and feeding our abundant mosquito and black fly populations. The Zink line of turkey calls and AvianX decoys are truly tools that can make anyone a better turkey hunter. Given the outstanding success I have enjoyed with the AvainX LCD turkey decoys and Zink line of turkey calls I am really looking forward to hunting over the AvianX line of Full Body Goose decoys this Fall.

I am very excited and privileged to be joining the Zink family and I am looking forward to helping my fellow outdoorspeople to become more successful in the field. I would like to give a shout out to John for his support and in particular Freddy for all he has done to promote and support waterfowl and turkey hunting up here in Canada.
