Kile Jones

Kile Jones started hunting waterfowl when he was 12 years old in Washington State. Out west, Kile mainly hunted ducks. This all changed when he moved to the state of Michigan. When Kile moved to Michigan he had no idea of what was going to happen. In a few short months Kile was introduced to a great friend and avid Zink Calls user, Bill Hawk. Bill taught Kile everything he could about goose hunting and goose calling.

A few months after introducing Kile to goose calling, Kile entered his first calling contest. Kile in turn took 4th. After that contest Kile was practicing twice a day, and doing everything he could to excel in the art of competition calling. With numerous contests under his belt, Kile started getting one on one instruction from Fred and he seemed to be making progress.

In 2008, Kile represented Zink Calls at the World Goose Calling contest in Easton, Maryland. Kile competed in the World Goose, Junior Mason Dixon Duck, and the Junior World Goose. Friday night where they hold the preliminary rounds Kile tied with a caller for fifth place, but lost in the tie breaker. He took 6th in senior world goose. The next day, Kile really stepped up his game. He brought home a 3rd place finish in the duck, and won the Junior World Goose. That was an achievement Kile had been pushing for during the previous year of calling. 2009 there were high expectations, Kile using a new proto-type call and all the help he could get did not seem to help during the calling season.

Scratching out numerous top 5 finishes, a 3rd place finish at worlds and then only one win during 2009 proved to be frustrating to him, it even made him think of quitting. With the help of his parents, Fred, Bill, Jimmy, and many friends he kept at it. With the release of the new call and the support of his family, and Zink Calls, Kile began a new year. 2010 is the start of a HUGE year for Kile and Zink Calls. Starting with a 2nd place finish, then a couple wins and more top five finishes, Kile hopes to bring in more championships for Zink Calls. Kile is EXTREMLY honored to represent Zink Calls, and very proud to wear their logo. He cannot wait for hunting season and for the 2010 world championships!
