Evan Ferns, 20 Lives in Klamath Falls, OR. Living my entire life in Southern Oregon has given me a wide variety of game to hunt, from Roosevelt Elk in the Cascade Mountains, to Waterfowl in the Klamath Basin, to Coyotes in the deserts of South East Oregon. Even though I enjoy all types of hunting, I'd have to say my favorite is laying out in a wheat field in the Avery Ground Force blind surrounded by GHG Full Body FFD Lesser's and hammer' in down on the Money Maker or the Little Man! I can normally be found following the waterfowl migration from the early September Season, through the Late Season Conservation hunt in March for Specks with my #1 hunting buddy, Avery- 3 Y/O Black Lab.
I graduated from Henley High School in 2007, and currently working for the local Hospital as an Aide, and also as a Fire Fighter. I recently finished school for my EMT-Basic Certification, and have plans of getting a degree in EMT-Paramedics. Having grown up in the Fire/EMS industry, because of my parents it has been almost clockwork to follow in their footsteps.
When I'm not out chasing birds, or working with Avery, I enjoy being
outdoors as much as possible, whether it's riding my horses, or camping
by a remote wilderness lake, or giving tips to younger kids on their
calling techniques. I'm extremely proud to be on the Zink Pro-Staff,
and to be part of such a wonderful waterfowl family has been a dream
come true. I also enjoy spending time teaching others how to get more
involved in the waterfowl world through Land Conservation. I honestly
believe that the next generation of hunters is the key to keeping the
sport of hunting alive!
