Darrin Day
Darrin Day knew the first time he pulled the trigger on a cupped up Canada Goose he had stumbled on a new hunting venture that would consume his life. That first Canada was sporting a leg band and he knew he was hooked. Since that time in 1994 Darrin has been a passionate and dedicated waterfowler. Darrin currently resides in Berea, Ky. and is a professional firefighter in Lexington, Ky. Darrin is currently a member of the Avery Prostaff and operates his own landscaping business.

Chasing gobblers in the spring, bowfishing all summer, and sitting on stand in the fall waiting for whitetails only helps pass the time until waterfowl season cranks up. Darrin's favorite style of hunting is definitely layout hunting for geese but he also enjoys decoying ducks on the local ponds and lakes. Central Ky. has never really been known as a waterfowl hotspot. At times it can be frustrating waiting on new birds to move in. Darrin feels his persistence in finding new spots and his up front, honest approach to landowners helps keep him on top of bird movement. "I hunt everyday in the fall, and at times that means hunting small groups of birds that know the drill." You have to be willing to change it up and try new things at times" Day states.

After graduating from Eastern Ky. University in the fall of 1998 Darrin decided to begin his career as a fireman. "I have THE greatest job in the world, I get to go to work everyday helping people and get over 200 days a year off to chase critters." Day travels to several states each fall in his pursuit of waterfowl. When not on the water or in the woods, Day spends his time at home with his wife Nicole, daughter Morgan, and yellow lab Molly.

Darrin feels his down to earth approachable attitude will allow him to contribute to the Zink Calls Pro Staff and help spread the word about our great company. Day enjoys helping youngsters learn to call and hunt and enjoys learning new methods and techniques from all the customers he encounters.
