My name is Travis Byrd, I am 25 years old, and I am from a little town called Booneville, located in the mountains of southeast Kentucky. I am a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where I majored in Physical Education and minored in Biology. I am currently employed by Sportsman's Warehouse, where I am the Archery Manager as well as the Assistant Hunting Manager. During the time that I am not tuning on bows or helping a fellow waterfowl hunter choose their next call, I enjoy shooting archery tournaments, hunting, especially bowhunting, fishing, calling contest, bowfishing and participating in sports.

From a young age I was always fascinated by the outdoors and some of my first memories afield were tagging along with my grandfather as he squirrel hunted and fishing on the creek banks with my dad. It wasn't until my teen years that I began venturing out myself, in search of game. The wild turkey is the first animal I started hunting, then deer, and later came waterfowl. My passion for the outdoors grows stronger and stronger with each passing season.

The calling aspect of hunting is something that has always intrigued me. Whether it is the call of an old raspy hen or the cry of a lone goose calling out as it flies overhead, their sound is one I have always tried to mimic. This interest in game calling has lead to hundreds of hours of practice, trying to sound as close to real thing as possible. It as also caused an interest in game calling competitions, which I try to participate in as often as possible.

This passion has also created an interest in other aspects of the outdoor lifestyle, including wildlife photograph and writing. This give me something to do when weather does not permit a day in the field or when there is no hunting season to take up all of my free time.
