Growing up in this area gave me the opportunity to experience the outdoors at a young age. I started fishing with my dad when I was very young. We spent a lot of time fishing for catfish along the Mississippi river. Cat fishing has become my favorite spring and summer hobby. The first form of hunting that I did was squirrel hunting with my dad and brother. I started deer hunting with a bow when I was twelve years old. That first year I did manage to shoot my first deer. It wasn't till I was sixteen that I started hunting waterfowl. I had wanted to try it for a long time but was never really introduced to it until then. The first bird that I ever shot was a big honker and my first duck was a wood duck drake that only had one leg. Today I live in Adair Illinois which is just a short ways from the town I grew up in. I now live with my fiancé Rhianna. I work as a pipe fitter and am on the road a lot of the time. When not working I am usually chasing ducks and geese along the Mississippi and Illinois river bottoms and every where in-between. My favorite way to type of hunting is for big late season honkers over a hole in the ice. But shooting big northern greenheads in the flooded corn is a close second. |
