Austin Kaufman

My name is Austin Kaufman I live in Gering, Nebraska by the North Platte River. I love hunting waterfowl, it is my passion and most inportintally it is my lifestyle. I shot my first duck and goose at age nine and ever since I've been hooked.

I have a 2 year old female black lab named Nelli after my benelli shotgun, I trained her by myself over the first summer I got her. I hunt and work on my Dad's 3,000 acre farm and also I hunt on the North Platte River. I mainly target geese in the corn fields, but when I get on the water it's all about the ducks. I love to call those weary birds into the decoys. I hunt with a little man, a money maker, a Paralyzer, and a PH-2 on my lanyard.

In the off season you can catch me playing traveling baseball or fishing for bass, pike, and walleye, but when hunting season gets closer you can find my scouting ducks, geese, and mule deer. I also love practicing my calling and working my dog.

My favorite species to hunt is Canada geese; I love having them locked up and coming for the decoys. I love watching the birds work the decoys and trying to convince them to commit to the spread. During the season I scout fields and find where the birds want to be and if I can't get that filled, I like being on a field they come by so I can call them to my field.

I love my Zink Calls they are my favorite calls and I believe the are great calls for anything field or stage.
