Jared Hunt
Jared Hunt is 24 years old and lives in Russellville, Ar. where he was born and raised. Jared started his hunting at an early age with his dad and can remember the times that his dad would have to carry him through the woods just to go. Since that time Jared has become even more involved in hunting as the years go by. It wasn't until he was 15 when he first started to duck hunt and now that is his favorite type of hunting. He spends hours at the local lake watching ducks and geese and learning the different ways they call to each other, interact, and relate to each other to help him be more successful in the blind.
Like many Arkansas duck hunters Jared loves the sight of green heads locked up into the decoys but, seeing big resident honkers coming in is what really gets him worked up. Just to watch a group of Canada geese lock up and land is just as rewarding to him as getting a limit of ducks or geese. Watching the ducks flap right in front of my face sends chills up his back. Growing up in the Arkansas River Valley has had a big impact on his waterfowl hunting teaching him how to adapt his strategy at a moments notice. One of his favorite hunts was when he and a friend decided to hunt before church one morning and sat up for a diver hunt not knowing how it would turn out. It was a bitter cold morning and only 45 minutes into the hunt they had there limit of Canvasbacks and Bluebills and were heading to the boat ramp.
Jared has served as Co-Chairman in the local Delta Waterfowl Chapter for the last two years. In the spring Jared also loves to go after the long beards of Arkansas or on the lake reeling in a large mouth bass. During the off seasons Jared is usually hanging out with friends, fishing, or even playing a church league softball game.
