Kyle Hitchens

My name is Kyle Hitchens, I am 20 years old, I live in Middletown, DE, and hunting has always been a way of life in my family. My early years of hunting were spent with my father in the deer woods on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He taught me pretty much all I know about the sport of deer hunting, and was right beside me the day I shot my first deer, a decent size 8 pointer.

I mainly considered myself a deer hunter up until about 5 years ago. Around the age of 15 I began to develop an interest in the sport of waterfowling, due to the fact that I grew up only minutes away from what is known as the mecca of goose hunting here on the eastern shore.

Since no one in my family was a waterfowl hunter it made it very difficult to break into the sport. However I did as much research as was available to me, and always asked as many questions as possible when around waterfowlers. I slowly broke my way in, and ever since the day I shot my first limit of geese I have been hooked.

Living on the eastern shore offers me many different types of hunting. I have hunted everything from flooded timber to farm ponds and flooded corn fields. However my favorite has to be hunting out of my power hunter in the middle of a decoy spread, and watching the geese come in right on top of you.

Through waterfowl hunting for over 10 years now I have been fortunate enough to hunt with some great people. The bond formed between waterfowl hunters is like no other, and it is always a good time sitting in the blind with old or new friends.
