Tom Greenwood III
He was born in Union County, Illinois, but is currently living in Mercer County, Ohio. Tom is in the farming industry and also a mechanic.
Tom's favorite game to hunt is waterfowl, especially geese. He would choose goose hunting over any kind of hunting.
Tom loves to hunt waterfowl from a pit, but in late January you will most likely find him in his finisher blind. "You got to be where the geese are if you want to have a successful day. With a finisher blind, you can hunt right on the X and the success rate is often pretty high."
Tom has been a member of Ducks Unlimited since he was 4 years old. He also likes to help with Youth Hunt programs and getting kids interested/ involved in waterfowl hunting.
Tom has been a guide for Gander Flats hunting club in Southern Illinois. This is where he got his start in waterfowl hunting and where his grandpa has been guiding for over 50 years. Many of Tom's "firsts" in hunting happened in the fields at Gander Flats.
The fondest memory Tom has while hunting is killing his first goose. Of course, it was at Gander Flats in a pit. He was twelve years old with one thing on his mind, to "shoot that goose." When he succeeded in doing so, he made sure everyone at the club, that day knew about it.
Tom still goes back to his "old stomping grounds" in Southern IL but has gotten accustomed to hunting in Ohio. His favorite place to hunt would either be in flooded timber or in a pit surrounded by corn stalks and GHG full bodies.
I think I will be able to bring some mechanical skills to this company. I have ideas just like everyone else does, but if we put our heads together, we have the power to really make this business grow.
