Zink Calls Field Staff

Kevin Dameron

Growing up on the Chesapeake Bay in Reedville, Va. gave me a lot opportunities to learn about waterfowl hunting. Since no one in my family was into waterfowl hunting; I primarily got started by jump shooting ducks on the creek that backs up to my family home on the Great Wicomico River. At 12 years old I killed my first duck, and from that point on ; I was hooked.

It wasn't until I was about 16, when I got a chance to go goose hunting with some friends; and the addiction got really bad. I thought getting the flock of Canada's to circle and finish in the decoys 15 yards from the blind; was one of the most amazing things I had ever experienced. Since that time; having had the opportunities to hunt with some of the best waterfowl hunters across the State; has attributed to my knowledge and success today. I try to gain some kind of knowledge from every hunt. "The smallest things can make you or break you in pulling off a successful hunt." "I believe anything you can do to make your setup look better and set you apart from the next guys; will definitely give you a higher success rate."

During the seasons; with my 5 year old yellow lab "Jake" by my side . I take every opportunity to chase the flights up and down the Atlantic Flyway. Every year I try to introduce newcomers and those less fortunate to the sport. Being able to introduce a new or young hunter to the sport always brings back memories. For me and my family; waterfowl hunting has become a way of life.

In the off season; I enjoy Dove and Turkey hunting, dog training, shooting skeet, practicing with my calls, working waterfowl shows, calling contest and my job as a Firearms Instructor/ Director of Training for my business; Dameron's Tactical Solutions Inc.

I am currently finishing up my Associates Degree in in Emergency Services as a National Registry Paramedic and work part time as a Firefighter-EMT.

I am very fortunate to have my wife; Lynn; and 6 year old daughter; Lauren; stand behind me with support in achieving my goals.

As always; Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
